A Stroll With Guest Designer Tara Orr

It's me again!! Hope you are all having a fantastic December so far!  It finally snowed here today! I am soooo excited - hope this evening we get a little bit so the kids can at least play in it for awhile before it melts.  Today I have another layout to share with you using the gorgeous Happy Christmas Collection from Inkido!
There are so many rich and beautiful reds in this collection - perfect for your holiday photos.  Normally, I prefer to design with black and white photos so that they aren't in competition with bold patterns and colours from the papers but I loved adding in a hint of red with this photo of my daughter.

The beautiful gold, crochet flowers were so beautiful and complimented the rich, warm tones in the reds.  To stretch the life of your embellishments, don't be afraid to cut them into smaller pieces.  I've done this with most of the flowers you see on this page.
More paper layering as well as the pop of neutral from the newsprint.  I have always had a tough time with 'whitespace' but adding in too many patterned papers can sometimes look too busy.  The subtle pattern in newsprint adds the perfect neutral tones and just a bit of busy at the same time.  Its been my go to 'filler' for quite some time now.
A few fussy cut blooms tucked in behind some papers and added to your 3D flowers can give a great opportunity to introduce different deapths and textures to your project.
Thank you so much for your visit today!! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Supplies:
Patterned Papers: Happy Christmas Collection/Inkido
Flowers: Inkido
Edge Scraper: Making Memories
Border Punch: Martha Stewart

GD Gerry and her lovely projects with Inkido

Hi!
It's Bellaidea today with our fanatstic Guest, Gerry!

Gerry van Gent was born and raised in Bulgaria where she studied at a Russian High School and graduated English Philology at the university of Blagoevgrad. She worked as an English teacher and translator already for a few years when she decided to study another language - Dutch. Since 2002 she has been living in The Netherlands where she started a family with her Dutch husband. Gerry is a full time mom to Alexander and Leanne.
Gerry has been involved into different hobbies like knitting, embroidery, drawing and playing the piano. Since 2009 she got seriously involved into paper crafting. She designs proudly for leading companies in the paper crafting industry and she gives workshops when the time allows her. She has been published in magazines and catalogues.
Gerry`s style is romantic, shabby chic and sometimes you can find touches of vintage. She creates mostly scrapbook layouts 12" x 12" but you can sometimes see her creating cards and altered items. Her main inspiration comes from her kids but she also draws inspiration from the products she`s working with.

Let me show you what Gerry made for us;

We love how she used Inkido products!
Dear Gerry, thank you so much for your lovely projects, we hope you will make some more for us in the future!

GD Carla!

Hi!
It's time for a new GDT today.
Do you know Carla?
I think you do but if not here is some info about her;

·

    I'm Carla Marchee and I am 41 years old. I live in  the Netherlands, together with my husband Marcel
and my two children. I am blessed to have two sons: one is 10 years old and the other one is 13.
I am a scrapaholic!! I love everything about this hobby...the fact that I am preserving precious memories, and love photography.
 Seven years ago I started scrapbooking after reading about this hobby on the internet. I was hooked immediately: I have always loved to work with pictures and making picture off my boy's and had several other hobby's but scrapbooking became my passion.
             .
I love the paper with flower designs and what a pleasure  is to cut, tear and distress papers.  I do also use flowers on boy's layouts, because I definitely think that should be OK for a boy .I always try to improve my work, I try to invent new techniques and new ways to get the details even better.
Presently I am on the Designteam  My Creative Scrapbook

Vintage Favorites

Hello.   Jennifer Snyder here to show you a few of my favorite products from Inkido . There is too much to show so I had to shorten my list  for this post (yeah hard to do when all the products are amazing).

I love vintage art.  I love the appeal and the look of days long since past.  I often gaze into a photo and think about the clothing, the hairstyles, the culture from that era. Inkido has captured the look and feel so perfectly in their products.

It's fitting for me to be drawn to some of the gorgeous delicate laces from Inkido,  and the beautiful flowers that will fit onto my page as if they were pieces right from the photo.

I hope these little previews will get your mind working and thinking about all the ways you can use Inkido to enhance your art.

Thanks for looking.  Stop back tomorrow for more inspiration.
