'Paris' Layout by Helen Tilbury {based on the January Mood Board}

Hi everyone!  Helen here with you again!!
Happy New Year from me!!!
Here is my take on the January Mood Board.

I started out by using the "Happy Christmas" patterned paper "Winter Birds".

I whited out the centre section using gesso & mists but left the outer
edges of the paper to show off the beautiful snowflake print.  I also tore
a couple of pieces of the paper in a contrasting colour, to use along the top
& bottom of the layout to emphasize the diagonal orientation of my page.

I embellished my page with some beautiful Inkido laces,
some of which I misted in blue & others that I left white.

Underneath my photo I used some more patterned paper from Inkido,
in the Music Notes Design.  I like to tear my papers as it adds texture.

As well as the Inkido floral lace you see above I also used some tiny
Inkido flowers {mini roses}, which I misted up to match my page.

Above you can see how well the Inkido laces take to being
recoloured using spray mists.  My advice is to spritz with water
while still wet to ensure that they dye with an even coverage.

I tucked in various pieces of Inkido patterned
paper underneath my photograph, for dimension.

I hope you will find some time to play along with our January
challenge HERE!  Follow the link to read the simple rules.

You have until the end of January to link up your project.

I also used some other pretty Inkido flowers on my page.
The lovely Cherry Blossom ones HERE.  Lastly I sprinkled
some beautiful Inkido bling dots around my page, confetti style.
The ones I used are called Champagne Pearls.

Thanks for your visit!!  I will be back again next month :)

Heavenly Whispers~Inkido January Challenge

Good morning everyone, and welcome to my very first post as a Design Team Member for Inkido!! For January we have a completely gorgeous challenge going on with the following photo for inspiration showing of the yummy "Scandinavian  Style" of decorating. Your entry can be a card, layout or off the page project, and I hope that you will join us!!

I was sooooo inspired by the white washed woods, soft pinks, grays and blues, and knew immediately that I wanted to take it off the page, and alter something wooden. I chose to alter a wooden book box with a pull out drawer, and here it is:

I used lots of those gorgeous, soft Paper Scandinavia  and Inkido products that you can find listed below with the links at the end of this post.

I first took a wooden book box, and painted it with gray acrylic, applied a crackle medium, and painted it again with white acrylic to get that shabby worn look like you see in the challenge photo.

I then layered in 5 different layers of Beautiful Memories Papers, distressing, sewing, tearing and inking the edges to add depth. I then took one of the yummy Corrugated Hearts from Paper Scandinavia and inked it up then "frosted" it with Snow Tex and German Glitter Glass.
The sweet little image inside the resin frame was one that I cut out from the Blue Angels Paper, and the metal clip is topped with a little Inkido Bling.

Here I layered in lace, feathers, a hand crafted flower, some Inkido Mulberry Paper Flowers, and a Beige Harmony Flower.

At the top I cut out a die cut butterfly and frosted it up and tucked it into my layers, then popped on the gorgeous Pink Harmony Flower Piece that reminded me of a Vintage Brooch.

Here you can see the "drawer" side of my box and all those yummy Paper Scandinavia and Inkido layers.

Here is the backside of my box with all that texture.

And here is the box with the drawer pulled out~so perfect for keepsakes and treasures!

I just loved working with all the soft and FABulous products, and I am so glad that you could join me for my first reveal with them!! Hugs to you~Renea

Miss Sunshine and a Baby card by Karita

 Hello all,
it´s Karita here and today I have a two different projects to share with you.

My first project is a layout from my cute daughter, although this picture has been taken six years ago, but she´s still cute.
Papers are from Beautiful Memories and Valentine collections.
I have used modelling paste, mists, stamp and gesso on the background.
I just love to use embellishments, as you can see. I`ve added flowers, chipboard and few blings. And I fussy cut few butterflies.

My second project is a card for a newborn baby.

I totally fell in love these papers and beautiful baby images from the Beautiful Memories collection.
I have sewed and inked all the paper edges and used my paper distressing tool.
Added few flowers, pins, lace and corrugated heart.

Thank you for looking!
Wishing you a lovely day!
Hugs, Karita
