Vintage Canvas Featuring Beautiful Memories

Hello.  Jennifer Snyder here to present my first project for Inkido.  I am thrilled and excited to bring you a canvas using the new collection, Inkido Beautiful Memories Collection.    

This started off as a white canvas, but after adding a layer of gesso, and some ink around the edges, it started to take shape as the vintage style piece I had envisioned.  

I used the Inkido Beautiful Memories Collection, Beige Flowers paper as my inspiration for colors and style. 

It was really hard to pick which tag to use because they are all so pretty.  This is Beige Flowers.  Just look at all the wonderful tags? Which would you pick? 

I accented with some mulberry flowers, Inkido cerise ( misted with red mist to really make it pop) and white, as well as some leaves from Inkido.  

Look at these gorgeous butterflies and borders?  This is the - Butterflies  Borders.

I used the Metal Leaf in Copper and the Copper Metal Ornament and simply rubbed a little gold leaf wax over them to give them a nice rich golden glow to match my canvas topper.  I also wanted  to bring out the gold tones in the paper.  You can see the Metal Ornament is tucked under my floral cluster. 

The top of my canvas is an Christmas ornament I bought at clearance at a super great price.  It fits so nicely here on top.  

The metal pieces from Inkido are very versatile and can be tucked anywhere in a cluster or used as the focal point.

Welcome Jennifer!

My name is Jennifer Snyder.  I am honored beyond words to be designing for Inkido and am thankful for this amazing opportunity.  This journey with Inkido is a dream for me - to be working with such gorgeous product.

I have been scrapping for several years, but really focusing on trying new techniques and styles within the last few years.  I am trying to find my place and see what style suits me best.  I am not sure I have settled upon anything yet, because scrapping depends on the papers, the photos and the story I am planning to tell through my layout/project.  After a page is done, I have just as much fun writing the story behind the piece; sometimes fanciful, sometimes heartfelt, sometimes historical.

I live in New York with my husband, two sons and two cats.  Ahhhhh I mention my cats because I scrap one of them extensively.  Her name is Escape Kitty and I love to dive into "character " and give her personality.  She has the attitude one would expect of a cat; aloof, curious and in charge of her owner - me. I absolutely enjoy my Kitty character and writing her adventures. It keeps my mind sharp.

In addition, I love photography and Photoshop.  I took many classes in order to improve my skills in these areas just to bring Escape Kitty to life. However, please do not tell Kitty she is simply a product of my imagination.  She would not believe you anyway.  I'm certain, if asked, Kitty would tell you she was the better, more accomplished scrapper.  Just let her believe that.  (eye roll)
