'The Week End'

Hi it's me, Bente again to share a lo with you this beautiful Sunday morning.
I love my Inkido papers and am always looking forward to using them on my layouts together with plenty of flowers.

Todays layout is no exception. I have used flowers, gesso,. mists, gems, and paints on this one to create this soft feminine, rather shabby look that I like. I have distressed all my papers  and stitched them to the page using my sewing machine.

I used the latest sketch from Once Upon a Sketch as a base for my page.

I used a heart shaped doily as a base for my title. Those bling stones by Inkido add such a lovely shine and they do them in all kinds of colours. The cute butterfly was cut from one of the papers.

A little closer look at the central part of the layout.

And here is a closie of the stitched banners.

Here are some of the beautiful Inkido products I have used:

That's all for today.I hope you enjoyed my page!

Monochromatic LO + tutorial

Hello friends!
It's Thursday with Zanka today and I wanted to share with you my recent Inkido LO, along with a short mixed media tutorial. Ready for a bit longer post? ;)

In Inkido collections you will find many beautiful shades of grey.
I wouldn't say fifty - LOL - but enough to make an interesting, almost monochromatic  project, just playing with different patterns.

As you can see, I did not stay true to greys all the way and eventually decided to inject some more colour -pink and whites.

The papers are really beautiful as they are...however you might want to personalize them a little bit, by adding just a touch of mixed media techniques.
In this project I worked with structure paste, gesso and ink.
  • Mix some ecoline into the modelling paste to make it pink.
  • Apply through a stencil(mask) or just random & let it dry completely. Then add some strikes of gesso.
  • For that you'd need a palette knife or an old plastic card . Just dab the edge generously in gesso and hit the paper couple of times, and draw,  to get the longer strikes. Let dry.
Stamping adds some interesting statement as well- I did the stamping after assembling the whole work. Just a random press of stamp, so called ghost stamping - script, text or flourishes are my faves.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great time playing with gesso, paints and stamping:)

GD Maja from Poland!

Hi!
Today I have a pleasure to show you  several projects from very talented and very nice peron, Maja.
She is a very special person to me, she was one of the first girls I "discovered" on line and she was always very suportive .
I vas very happy she accepted my invitation to GD for Inkido.

Hello all Inkido Fans! I'm so happy to share my creations on the Inkido blog! My name's Maja Nowak, a happy wife to my university sweetheart and proud mom to two fantastic sons. We live in the South of Poland. I came by scrapbooking quite by chance in January 2008 - and it's been love at the first sight to this day! I'd tried cross stitching, decoupage, knitting, painting and drawing before, but scrapbooking gives you the freedom of using and combining many crafting techniques and materials.
I feel most at ease in vintage shabby chic, but being a member of various DTs, I'm sometimes "forced" to struggle with many other styles, with various results ;-)
My boys are mostly the subjects of my "private" scrapbooking creations, but being a romantic&vintage style lover, I don't hesitate to use pastel colours, lace or flowers in my LOs :-) Creating to order fills my need to make something typically feminine. I create mostly cards, but only due to lack of time - I love making LOs and altered objects too!
I love all scrapbooking tools and materials, but most of all I'm a hopeless stamp collector and fan of vintage patterned papers, so I found immediately attracted to Inkido Beautiful Moments collection. I hope you'll like the few things I created with these papers.
Please visit Maja HERE!  She has a lovely blog.

Maja made for us 3 beautiful projects;

This time it's a lovely page with handsome boys!

As a last project for today I will show you a card;

I am sure you like her work too!
Dziękuję Maju!
